September Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Hope you've all been enjoying this hot September so far.

At the start of the month, I sang at the beautiful Heart of the Rose Festival on the Isis stage. It was a joyful celebration of the Feminine path of awakening, and I was happy to share songs from different traditions and original compositions centred around the path of love and divine remembrance with a special focus on the Feminine.  Here is a little clip

Then this past weekend, I had the great privilege of sharing music in London's Little Venice for a very special gathering of hearts, a seminar on the subject of Immortality with Pir Zia Inayat Khan. The weekend was an affirming and deeply inspiring journey through the stars, reminding us that death is indeed not the end. I highly recommend Pir Zia's new book  Immortality: A Traveler's Guide which takes inspiration from his Grandfather Hazrat Inayat Khan's The Soul, Whence and Whither, and provides exercises for practice and contemplation. During the seminar, I had the chance to share a few new compositions, which I hope to record and share with you soon.

Coming up in a few weeks' time, I am looking forward to joining the School of Kapwa as they embark on a course on Indigenous Filipino Hilot healing, and welcome Mamerto "Lagitan" Tindongan of the Ifugao people, all the way from Northern Philippines. There will be a public event (which I won't be singing at), but I would love to encourage you to join this rare and unique event.  We will be gathering in a wild meadow in the Cotswolds  and Lagitan will lead us in an Ap-Appuy gathering (fire gathering) with ceremony, music, and story telling. There are no more overnight tickets left (although campers are welcome), but evening tickets are available here

In a few day's time I will be moving home, and setting up a new music and sound healing space in the heart chakra of the Earth, Glastonbury. Will share more soon. :)

That's all for now!

Sending love to you all,

Ruhiya
