Dear Friends,
Hope you are having a beautiful Summer so far!
As I prepare for a workshop tomorrow on the Healing Power of Music, I am diving back into some of the research and philosophy on the transformative alchemy of sound and frequency, and it never ceases to amaze me.
“Sound is the force of creation, the true whole. Music then, becomes the voice of the great cosmic oneness and therefore the optimal way to reach this final state of healing”.
– Hazrat Inayat Khan
Our ancestors knew this intuitively. They knew how to stamp the ground, beat a drum, howl to the moon, sing in chorus, drown in the beauty of sound, and let all traumas and fear be transmuted into love. Such is the gift of music, and it is for us all. We only need to remember and experience this often enough that we immediately cry out with our voices, reach out for instruments, or seek to listen to musicians (or recorded music). By living in this way, we can prevent the stresses of life from accumulating and finding a home within our bodies which can later manifest as disease.
On this note, (pun intended), here are some upcoming events in the coming months that will all focus on healing and devotional music. Hope to see some of you there!
With love,
Ruhiya
