Happy New Year & Blessed Imbolc!

Dear Friends,

Blessed Imbolc and a Happy New year to you all!

It has been a while! I hope this message finds you all well, despite the ongoing craziness of the world.

Since I last wrote, I had a beautiful concert in Glastonbury with my good friend John Walklate. That night I was terribly ill with that nasty flu virus that was going around, but with the grace of the powers that be, I was able to sing that night. Here are is a video of us performing Amazing Grace & Hallelujah, and my original song Shekhinah.

Then in early December I travelled to Turkey, and performed two concerts with my Turkish friend and sister, Cansu, for our new project Roses of Eden. We share heart led songs and create spaces that reimagine Sufi music, including traditional Turkish ilahis. We had a beautiful concert at Minoa Pera in Istanbul and then Hichane in Konya during the festivities of Mevlana Rumi's Urs. I can hardly explain how special a time it was... all I can say is that it felt like home, and I still miss the music, company, food and tea.

Here is our new instagram page and we have a short teaser video on YouTube.

For those of you might like to hear us live in the context of the Holy Grail, mythology, Sufism and in the magical setting of Glastonbury- we will also be singing during a special retreat In Search of the Grail in April, with Pir Zia Inayat Khan and Robert J Stewart- and more special guests, including musical ones! It should be quite an experience and journey. Booking quickly is advised as there are limited spaces available. Online tickets to stream the event are likely to follow soon too.

Finally, my next live concert will be on March 21st at the Madgalene Chapel in Glastonbury, during Spring Equinox weekend. This will be the first live rendition of my album. I hope some of you can make it! Space is very limited so tickets are limited too and booking early is advised.

Thank you again as always for your support!

With Love,

Ruhiya
