To Bring: cushion or sheepskin rug for sitting on the floor, yoga mat if you would like to lie down, a scarf / blanket, and a bottle of water. You are welcome to bring along a crystal, flower or something that is meaningful for the altar if you would like.
As the lunar year of Wood Serpent has arrived, we warmly invite you to join us in a ceremonial soundscape to receive the rising of the transformational and creative energies the serpent symbolises. Through guided breathwork, meditation and the resonance of sound, we will create a liminal space—a gateway for you to dream and envision new possibilities for this potent lunar year cycle. To close the ceremony, we will be guided to intuitively weave our voices together, bringing our individual and collective visions to life.
The Great Hall at the Bennett Centre is a beautiful resonant space, located nearby the powerful energy of St John the Baptist Church. Frome is a town steeped in folklore and mysticism, located along the St Michael Leyline, which holds powerful masculine energy. At this ripe time at the dawn of Spring in the light of the New Moon, as the Chinese calendar shifts from the Wood Dragon to the Wood Serpent, we will create a sacred altar and and gather around a log fire in this space of new beginnings, sparking and awakening potentiality through the power of sound.
About Oyu:
Originally from Hong Kong, Oyu is passionate about weaving the ancient Chinese wisdom of Daoism, power of breath and our voices to help us dissolve into a non dual state of consciousness. She has a deep connection with the spirits of nature and is often guided by the wisdom of trees. She channels spirit songs that bring harmony, openness and timelessness into the space she holds. She has been bringing the dragon awakening vocal ritual to communities at events and festivals like Being Gathering in Portugal, Medicine Festival and Love Jam Campout in the UK. She also holds space for pilgrimage ceremonies on the ley line.
About Ruhiya:
Ruhiya is a singer-songwriter and sound healing practitioner whose voice invites listeners into a space of remembrance. Her music resonates with timelessness, weaving together folk, soul, poetry and chant. Inspired by her Celtic and Filipino roots, mysticism, dreams and nature; Ruhiya’s voice and music are an offering of connection and an invitation into the mystery. Currently based in Somerset in the UK, Ruhiya shares her music through concerts, recordings, 1:1 and group vocal sessions, workshops and retreats.
We will be preparing the space for the number of attendees, so booking in advance for this event is essential.
